Collateral damage from the fall of America
I spent half the night wondering what I could say in today’s post.
I thought I might note the irony of DJT opining on the dangers of DEI hiring while standing right next to Pete Hegseth, the massively under-qualified and alcoholic Secretary of Defence, who got his job from Republican “diversity equity and inclusion tactics.”
But I’m also preoccupied with the stupid tariffs, launched in retaliation to a problem that does not exist, with wilful disregard for the real problems they will cause.
Because what I’m really worried about is we’re only two weeks in and America already looks like one of Pete Hegseth’s bad nights: lots of fear, chaos and stumbling around. One can only assume it will get worse.
I can’t get all that into one post. So enjoy the picture of the turtle.

Hopefully, “we” (Canadians) can take from the determined and resilient little ’slug’ who finally and despite it all… raindrops, cracks, boulders and little ‘Marty’… actually makes it all the way to the other side of the sidewalk!! God love him! May he be our inspiration to get through the next 4 loooong years… 🙏
